Indoor Plants can add intrigue, color and health benefits to your home and personal life. Today I am sharing 5 such plants that are popular House Plants and can be found at Lowes, Home Depot or your local nursery.

There are many ways to approach plant selections that can be both great house plants and can be placed according to basic Feng Shui applications.

Orchid The Orchid

An excellent flowering plant.  According to Feng Shui, a pink Orchid will maintain harmonious relationships.  White Ochids bring harmomy by filling the space with calm, clarity, innocence and peace. Violet Orchids are said to be the most auspicious (promising success) among the many varieties of the plant. Let the color help you decide which room to place the plant in.

  Jade

Jade leaves are shaped like the precious stone of Jadeite used as a gem or ornamental carvings.  In ancient history the stone was used for imperial emblems such as pendants, seals and jewelry.  Thus it became a symbol of wealth, an enhancer of success and good luck.  Placing a Jade plant in the home office or given as a gift to a newly opened office is ideal.

  Bamboo

While there are many species of Bamboo and varieties of it with each species, every type of Bambo is symbolic of longevity, wealth and good health.  Additionally, when contained in a vase, it signifies safety.  If you want to invite wealth into your life, place the plant in the Southeast area of the home.

  Golden Pothos

It's role in Feng Shui is to purify air, and neutralize bad energy.  For best results locate it in bright indirect light and water only when the soil turns dry to the touch. Because it is very apt at removing VOCS and toxins from surrounding air, it has become popular to place them in bathrooms near the toilet and laundry rooms near cleaning supplies.

  Majesty Palm Tree

Timeless with graceful, feathery fronds, this plant is non-toxic for cats and dogs.  Water just enough to keep soil evenly wet.  A special feature of the Majesty Palm is that it purifies the air.  Do keep in mind that they grow tall and will need a corner offering plenty of growing room.  Great for bathrooms if space permits as they love humidity.
